Succulent like with fleshy, hairless, rounded, paddle shaped leaves growing on reddish, branched stems - add leaves to salads. Yellow flowers appear in summer. Purslane has been used as a food and medicine for at least 2000 years and is still a food staple all over the Mediterranean. Medically used for high blood pressure, anaemia, rickets, diabetes, blood disorders and fevers. It is also soothing to the the whole digestive system. Full sun. Frost tender. ANNUAL.
